A quizzical expression often accompanies the hesitant question, "Excuse me, but is that a photo or a painting?"
It pleases me when someone asks about my work. While i constantly strive to improve my photography, I also thoroughly enjoy embracing the freedom that putting my photos into the computer adds to my artistic vision. Not that long ago, the word "digital" held negative connotations where art and photography were concerned. Fortunately, that concept has changed.
"Digital" does not mean simply applying a Photoshop filter and calling it a day. Many think using Photoshop means putting one head on a different body. No, not quite! I spend hours going over all the pixels in each photo with digital brushes. And to finish the image, i can add textures, vectors, words, other photos, paints, or nearly anything i want!
So to answer your question, my images start with the click of the shutter, then add a dollop of imagination, and hopefully, end with an image I can be proud of. That’s why it’s Photo Art, or Photo Artistry.
Some folks tell me they like the feelings they get when just looking at a particular image. Others say they often “see” aspects of the image they never noticed before. My hope is that you’ll connect with one of my images and enjoy it for years to come!
Thank you so much!!!
